What Is PHGG?
PHGG is partially hydrolysed guar gum: a soluble fibre made from guar beans, processed so it dissolves in water without turning thick.
What is PHGG made from?
Guar gum comes from the seed of the guar plant, a bean grown mostly in India. Plain guar gum is a thickener: a teaspoon turns water into a gel. To make PHGG, the guar gum is partly broken down with an enzyme into shorter chains. The result is still a fibre, but it dissolves clear and stays thin.
